Where to run the coax to the firewall?

I drilled a hole to the right (away from the engine) of the brake booster. Put a grommet in the hole.
If you get a grommet that is a bit snug, put some dish soap on the wire and it'll glide right in.

There is a grommet under the driver seat, near the frame. Since your running from the rear, you could have went through this grommet...

I didn't feel like pulling up the carpet to get the wire, plus I already had to run wires from the battery.

I'm curious why you are going through the firweall to get to the back bumper...

That's kind of like saying you're in Chicago headed for LA and you are asking what the best crossing of the Hudson River is...???

It was less work to run it through the frame up to the firewall than to tear up the carpet and all of that mess.

I have an antenna base mounted to the ladder rack that is mounted to the roof of my cap.

the coax gets inside the truck via a Bulkhead N-connector that is mounted through a 5/8" diameter hole that access the space under the driver's side jump-seat.

MY primary antenna is a through the roof mount as I stated above, but my 2M/440 radio is not my only radio I also have an IC-706 compact HF/2M radio.
