north carolina
florida

Wellsboro, and Mansfield Pennsylvania

taxes are fair (not high), lot of land, rural, close to a walmart and resteraunts, 30 minutes from NY for malls and shopping centers.

We got 135+ acres and a full farm with 2 barns and a 2 story house + more for $180,000 and I cannot see a neighbor for 1/2 a mile or farther in any direction!

Also, our high school ranks in the top 2,500 out of all in the country!

Pop 3k

thanks, not really looking for PA very much, more of the southern states where its warmer. i already almost live in PA, lol. it is better than NY though!

I may be biased, but New Hampshire and most of northern New England are nice.

NH does require you to get a safety inspection every year, but it's only about $30 to do so. Registration fees every year aren't bad (about $80 for my '94 Ranger), and there's no vehicle tax OR sales tax.

The down side is the property taxes can be pricey.

1. Alaska.
2. Colorado.
3. Wyoming (central/West, no East!!)
4. Idaho.

Not to be biased but I have traveled all over the country, spending a month or more in other states at a time. I always looked for the good in any place I was. I never found a place that I would rather live than Tennessee. The only close contenders were Missouri or Louisiana. I moved from middle TN to east TN about 3 years ago and love it!
No vehicle inspections. Low taxes compared to most of the country. Real estate is cheap. Plenty of wheeling. Folks are nice as can be. Job market is actually looking up. Plenty of auto manufactures have located here with good paying jobs. I live in Oak Ridge which has the highest teacher salaries and our schools rank 800th in the nation. (why I moved here, got 2 boys). We have a large population of yankee relocaters, so you'd fit right in.

Weather is beautiful year round. We get a little snow here in the eastern part of the state. Plenty of recreational activities from hunting and fishing to hiking and biking. Lots of water if you're into boating, parks everywhere, aquariums, zoos, and of course plenty of wheeling spots. Got the Smokey Mtns. right up the road and the tourist trap that is Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Do a Google search on any of this and you will see what I mean.
Come on down, we'd love to have you.

How about outer space? heard there is a lot of undeveloped land up there ripe for finding XD

Unless you are a democrat.:D

Uh, I'm a democrat. I'm also the type of person that don't care what your beliefs are. As long as you're not trying to shove it down my throat, we can sit and talk about it over a beer.
