I'm in need of the hard line from the mechanical fuel pump up to the carburetor on my 1985 B2, 2.8.
None of the parts houses around here can get one.
Anybody know where I can go to get one ?

Are you trying to find a pre bent line? That's simply never gonna happen. You can buy a flare kit for under 20 bucks on amazon and make your own though.

Do what he ^^^ said. Buy extra tubing and play around getting used to the bender and flaring tool. Its a fun learning curve and you'll be a better man in the long run.

I always bend up a hard fuel line, I hate to see 2 feet of rubber hose on an engine. You'll obviously need a fitting to attach the fuel pump end, I used a double flare tool to make a bubble on the carb end. I clamp the line in my flaring tool and do only the first part of the flare to make the bubble. If you own a bubble flare tool that would obviously work, too.

All the parts houses sell universal line with the ends already on it. You have to judge how long piece you need, it will usually be a little too long but some extra bends here and there will take up the extra. I recommend you buy the copper/nickel line. It's very easy to work with and won't rust.

Two thumbs up to ECGREEN :-)

I buy 3/8" flexible tubing from Summit Racing in 25 foot rolls to make everything from air compressor lines, to transmission and fuel lines. On my 1985 B2, I have the hard line going to a short rubber 3/8 hose that goes to a Mr. Gasket #9748 clear glass filter which connects to hose and the stock metal fuel filter on a 1974 ? Pinto carb.

Using a KD-Tools tube bender (1/4 - 5/16) and KD-Tools flaring kit, I have been able to make just about everything possible needed on a wide variety of vehicles except brake lines on a 2005 Expedition which take a different kind of bubble flare. Not to be undone, you need a 10mm hex socket to do the rear brakes on the Expedition too.

Investing in the tools to make the line might be better then buying it.
