I'm hoping that somebody can point me towards a place where I can find a manual or website that gives me some 1bbl YFA carb specs. I'm talking things like float level and drop, dechoke clearance, bowl vent adjustment, fast idle cam clearances.
I own a factory service manual for my '83 Ranger, the Ford '83 Engine/Emission Diagnosis Manual, and the Ford 1983/1984 Carburetor and Fuel Charging Assembly Adjustments manual.
All of these are great in their own way but none include actual specs for the tolerances above, only diagrams and procedures. I think I am looking for an Engine Emissions Fact Book or relevant TSB/s. Any ideas?
No idea that this was like finding the Holy Grail or something until I decided to rebuild the freaking carb. I'm experiencing a hunting idle and transient lean condition when I let off the throttle (I have an air/fuel gauge on a heated O2 sensor that shows me this), hi-lo, hi-lo, hi-lo. It won't stall out, but just started running this way a couple days ago. When you get into the throttle it runs OK but a little leaner than I am used to seeing (still right between stoich and rich). Kind of a bear to drive in traffic.
I have four (yes four) fuel filters including two that are clear, so I can see that fuel delivery is not my issue, at least outside the carb.
Thanks for any hints/tips!
