Hello, this is my first post and I apologize beforehand if this is in the wrong section. I replaced the intake manifold & now I can't figure out where the 2 red wire connector (that's a part of the green wire going to the top of the EGR valve) goes.
Thank you

Is that wire or vacuum tubing? Looks like vacuum tubing to me. If so, you're looking for some vacuum device (egr valve, fuel pressure regulator, etc.) that isn't connected or a vacuum supply port to hook it onto.

There should be a sticker with the vacuum system layout stuck to the top of the radiator support.

Yeah, that's a vacuum hose, I'd look at my '97 for you but I won't be able to until tomorrow... I think it just goes to the intake manifold somewhere unfortunately I think it's under it by the throttle body or on the throttle.

It looks like a vacuum hose, however there are 2 red wires that go in. It looks to be an electrical connector for the purge evap system. I just can't find the spot to connect this to, unfortunately. I went ahead and checked the sticker that you referred to & it shows that it goes to the same area as the green plug on top of the EGR valve.

I'll take the manifold off again, I hope I can find it. Would you mind getting a picture of where yours leads to, when you get the chance please?

Your first picture, showing the plug in question, sure does look like two red vacuum lines on a single plug-on port. That is very typical for how vacuum lines plug onto the vac tree or nipple at the source.

Have you checked real good at the area that I've circled in your second picture?

Where does this go?

Hey RobbieD, I have inspected both on top and under. I suspect I may have to pull the intake manifold off again. However I'm trying to hopefully locate where the part is, so that I can avoid doing that.
Thank you for circling it and pointing out how this works. This is all new to me, so it's very appreciated, and discovering the diagram yesterday was shocking (in a good way)!

Thank you as well, to everyone who has contributed or commented

Wish that I could help further; I haven't messed with a 2.3 in 20 years.

Maybe somebody that knows that motor better will come along with more info.

Good luck!

Those are not wires. They are hollow plastic vacuum tubes.
