I have an 1988 Ford Ranger 2.0L that I brought to a mechanic I know and he wants me to get a Bronze gear for my distributor. I have found several Bronze distributor gears. I have looked on Jegs, summit, and speedway motors for a gear and they all ask about the shaft diameter, the mechanic has the distributor so I don't know the diameter. Now I checked Esslinger but they only have the bronze gear for a 2.3L distributor. I also checked Racer Walsh they have another bronze gear besides the 2.3L gear but it does not say what it is for.

So all that to ask this does anyone know where to get a BRONZE GEAR for a 2.0 L Distributor?

I have never seen or herd of one wearing out.

Doing this type of thing to a 2.0 is probably across the line
from "good idea" and into "wasted effort".

The primary purpose of a bronze distance gear is to preserve an expensive aftermarket steel camshaft, typically on a V8 engine (steel cams and iron distance gears don't mix)

But on a 2.0, the distance gear is driven by a little accessory shafts in the block,
The cam is in the head.
