A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
I used to work with a guy that has one of those. He'd use it to haul a dirt track car for one of our service writers, so he drove it to work almost every Friday and Monday through the dirt track season.

I think it is a homebrew rig but once in awhile I see like an Astro made into a pickup running around.

I have never seen a fullsize one.

Yeah, ive seen a few, havent in many years though. Most were on dodge chassis though.

My wife would prolly shoot me though if i told her we were taking that up north this summer :)

too bad that Merc in the background is a 4dr. still tempting for a classic cruiser. is that an Edsel next to it? oh oh, early 60s pickup!!

honey, we may have dinner in Marshall tonight....

where's Marshall???

not sure, but heard they have a great pizza place :)

Marshall motors is just the name of the place. Its actually on the outskirts of jackson, bout an hr and a half or so from toledo, what hes got listed on that site is just the tip of thr iceberg.

I can't remember if it was the same model but I saw something similar to that at the local drag racing strip near me but it has been awhile since I have seen it.

Not ugly at all!! I would drive the F out of that thing. And I wouldn't mess it up with a Cummins either. All blue oval or nothing.

I love driving vans, but I hate working on them. Ford does the best job of burying the engine in there. You look under the hood--no engine. You pop off the cover inside--no engine. Somewhere, under the dash, is 750# of 460. A Dodge or Chevy of that era, you can do the valve-stem seals laying on the shag carpet inside the van listening to the Moody Blues on the 6x9s.

I had a 94 1/2 ton conversion with a 302, putting plugs in that was a royal PITA. I can only imagine what itd be like with every spare square inch taken up by 460.

That being said though, i am seriously considering an Econoline whenever i decide to replace my 97. They are alot cheaper then trucks, the room would be nice for the dogs, and that stubby front end would make backing into camping spots when the asshole across the drive parks in such a way it leaves you no room alot eaiser.

These wer the shit back in the 80s I was runnin pro drag motorcycles.and half the people racin either had these or conversion vans

Ha! That thing’s awesome! I vaguely remember seeing them as a kid. Maybe you could sweeten the deal for wifey by reminding her that a hot tub can fit in the back? :icon_rofl::icon_thumby:

PS - Needs some wheelie bars, though! lol
