Wheelin Meet This Winter

Damn, now those are some roots!!!

Is the road they dug out, in bewteen the rockpile, and the staging area? I don't know how to describe the area/ road I'm thinking of. When you cross the road from the staging area, you stay to the right up the entry-hill, and it winds around alittle bit, and then comes to a little down hill/ hillclimb. The road I'm thinking of is at the bottom of that hill, going over towards a somewhat large water hole which is basicly an intersection (one way goes up a hill, another way goes towards the rockpile/ mud lake, and the other way goes towards a couple camp grounds).

Looks like a bit of a challenge though.

I'm not looking to flop my truck either...

That's the one. Its on the way to Broke Axle Hill, the first of the two open areas on that trail to Mud Lake. I'm not quite were that rock/hill climb is, but I think it is on the hill off to the side of that road, going back up to the trail that originates from the staging area.

Plus they also plan to put in another trail, known now as "XXX" but I'm not too sure where.

Yep, :headbang: that's the trail I wanna run. I think the LJ's about ready for a flop. :icon_twisted:

You've never flopped it have you?

I know you came pretty close up at Evans (going down the 520, and going up on the back alittle) or at least it looked like it.

I wonder if Joop flopped becuase he was taking the harder lines? judging by the pictures, it seems like he could have taken a line that would have put him alot more level than he was.

I don't know how crazy I'll be when we go, haha. I will have done my manual swap, and will be the first time I've driven a manual off of the street. Shouldn't be too hard becuase the other manuals I've driven were a poorly running 2.8L 5spd (ranger) and a B2300 5spd.

EDIT: That NW parts forum that was made a while ago is no longer up anymore is it? I go to the site and says it doesn't exist now (comes up with one of those wierd search engine type web pages).

Yeah sometimes it's hard to tell with him. I know he gives out stickers every time somebody recovers him, so I think he might like it. Plus the :headbang: in the one picture, lol.

I remember a while ago that trail used to be a lot more dug out than it was more recently, kinda like South Loop. I know I ran South Loop the day after they dug it and it sucked... Then again I've grown balls since then, but still. Plus this looks a lot more serious. I think they make ways around/through every obstacle unless it is clearly marked as extreme like that one sign was marking.

Nope, I've been damn close a couple times, and layed it on the highlift that one time at Evans, but haven't been fully on my side or top.

If you'll notice, Joop hadn't painted the hood from the last time he replaced it. He gets alot of shit for rolling at tahuya before this. He also just recently went from leafs in front to links and airshocks.

And yeah, the parts forum is gone, I haven't seen Busted around either, I know his mother was sick, so who knows. Probably not a priority in his life right now.

I think it's cool if they make bypasses for the challegning stuff (except the trails marked as such).

It is amazing how many people go there becuase of the difficulty that it was. You see tons of stock rigs going there becuase it is really about the only place they CAN go.

Yeah I went there totally stock on 215s and ran everything except South Loop, since I didn't have enough flex to get up the hill, lol. But that's a good thing - I by myself with my girlfriend (bad).

I've come to realize being locked on both ends is a little overkill for what it was. But I'm not into rocks at all, so unless the build a cool trail that's harder I'll stick with what they've got. And at least it always changes a bit over time as things get worn down..

I might be up for it. I should be geared and locked and finally havea front shaft by mid nov. Somebody pick some dates, i'd love to come.

I think either the 13th of December, or the 20th of December (saturdays).

I'm pretty sure I'm open for all of those, and I know sunk said he was busy the 6th, and 13th.

But I'm thinking probably the 20th. Just my thought.

The 6th is out definitely, the 13th could work, but the 20th would definitely be better. I have a better chance of being able to bring my truck at least. But whatever you guys decide on, I can try to show up for and at least take some pictures or something.

Unless the 20th doesn't work for more poeple than it does, then I think that's the day. And not to mention, that is the first day of my Christmas break too, not that that matters much.

that would give me an extra week to break in my clutch too. I do 175 miles a week, so it takes about 3 weeks to get 500 miles (what I've seen as the break-in time on clutchs). But I'm sure alittle longer is better, 500 I'm guessing is just a minimum.

What?
It's a good place to go for an easy day of just messing around.
And good for not scaring the crap out of people who've never gone wheelin before. (evans Creek's

Not to mention, not much risk of damage or breaking things.
