wheel well lights illegal?

People can move here from other countries and bring their trucks with them!
Only if the truck is 25 or more years old can it be imported from another country and registered for use on U.S. public roads.

you can hook the front ones up to the turn signal for cornering. thats nice.

we got a truck coming straight in from germany....as a 2021 model.

sure..its a one seater......it looks like a crane....but....its on a truck chassis...

Interesting...
There must be an industrial or heavy equipment exemption?

I remember somebody wanting to import a Mexican double-cab Ranger here to the US (and was being very persistent about it) and that's where I learned about the 25-year rule which prevented him from doing it. I can't remember if it was on here or another forum or if he ever managed to get it done somehow (this was maybe 5 or 6 years ago).

I thought you could import it as long as you took the bed off... they can't claim its a truck or something with no bed? Its a thing, i don't know if its the right thing but its a thing...

If it’s not complete, you can legally claim it’s parts.

Even a cab? (which has a VIN # associated with it?)

If I remember correctly, as long as there’s no engine and trans it’s an incomplete vehicle and can be imported.

It may have been imported without an engine, then registered as a kit car.

Catrham does this, they don’t meet safety standards so that’s how they import their cars to the us.

Bump. Wheel well lights are illegal in Virginia on civilian vehicles, so it's not just the West Coast. That doesn't mean I don't see some cars around here with them.
