I poop in the furnace.
Just got a 2006 crown vic cop car for sorta free. (I have until monday to get what parts I want before it goes to the crusher).

So far I pulled the trac lok, wont fit my truck but if I ever do an 8.8 swap I got one, I took all the police gadgets that were left in it (siren/pa and controller, spotlights, grill and tailight strobes and controller ect), and the center caps.

I'm Wandering if the seats will fit my truck? (09 regular cab)

The engine is toast so not even worth scrap.

What else is worth grabbing off one of these things? For my truck or just worth saving to sell or whatever?

Wheels fit.

I usually just walk past them in yards, not much on them does me any good. :dntknw:

Not sure on the seats, they are probably shot. Watch the seatback size/shape. I got into that with my std cab trying Explorer/BII buckets. They hit the back window and don't fit very well.

Tranny, driveshaft, rear end, ...? all that stuff has some value. Whether or not you want to deal with parting it out for mullah is up to you. If I knew where "over there ----->" was, I would come get it off your hands. I am a "scrapper" (reads "junk collector") after all

Best part of the rear end is gone already, not sure what the market is for a old flogged 4R70W with no way of knowing how well it worked before the engine died.

The car is already spoken for by another "scrapper" but since he had to park it at my shop before hauling it in he's letting me dissect it first.

The car had 178k of cop miles so safe to say the transmission is toast too.

I started pulling interior nic nacs. Might figure out how to adapt the temp/compass rear view mirror to my truck. The sunvisors are also way better than the cheapo non lighted no mirror ones on my truck. Also got the interceptor badge just because.

The wheels are 17" so they are of no use to me.

I did find a bunch of white crusty powder caked all over the bottom of the trunk. Thinking there may be some value there. :icon_rofl:

I like finding old public safety vehicles in junkyards. Especially ambulances. They're a good source for toggle switches. You can find the alternating relays in cop cars. Somrtimes strobe tubes in the headlights and taillights. I think I only found a siren once. If you ever see a box with switches to control the lights, grab it. Make sure you check the inside of the trunk lid for lights. Sometimes these cars still have center consoles in them. Check for the siren speaker behind the bumper.

What siren was in it?

The siren/pa is a whalen. The control boxes had no names on them. The spotlights i know cost a fortune (i have one on my ranger already). The mount kit alone was 75 bucks. If i actually bought the light they are 200 a peice but I got that free off a county truck a few years ago. They are all unity, which is the only company that makes them from my internet searches.

Like i said, any "cop" gear is already stolen. The car left today. I got a bunch of stuff to sell on ebay or whatever. Its crazy illegal to put any flashing lights on a car in my state so I'll probably sell all that too but I think I'm gonna install the siren/pa for fun.

Ya, it's illegal to have it installed in your car.

Never been a fan of Whelen sirens. I like Federal Signal and Code 3.

I had dual Unity spotlights on TRS-1, and a Federal siren under the dash. I was allowed though. The PA can come in handy.

I have enough emergency equipment stashed to outfit a small police department.
