I'm possibly looking at a 88 ranger 2.0liter 2wd ranger. i've owned a 2.0 ranger before and its was fine in stock form, but i plan on lifting the ranger around 4inches and fear it wont be able to do highway speeds with a lift and bigger tires even with gearing.
so whats it like having a turo ranger??...nothing crazy...probably around 5-10psi...what gas mileage like?...has it be reliable??

Its as reliable as you build it, I have taken mine as far as 500 miles one way with out much of an issue....

as the mpg goes, well depends on how much your right foot goes down and spools the turbo, the more you spool the more you dump fuel
in basic driving mode I get about 22mpg in town and about 17 hwy... I do ot have a OD trans and I am an auto.

forget the 5-10 psi... you will be set at 15-20 easy if you run the TC forged dished pistons

woth yourd being an 88 Ranger, find a 83-88 Thunderbird turbo coupe, swap ove the whole engine, and ECU, you may want to repin your ranger harness or just drop in a TC harness

My 85 was carbed so I had to swap in the harness.

look here for more info on doing the swap....

I'm doing a turbo swap now on my 87 Ranger (88 turbo coupe engine) and I found out it is MUCH easier to repin the Ranger harness than installing the turbo coupe harness...... Ranger has the same plug for the computer as the T-bird so it's just a matter of repinning the harness for the T-bird computer....... still working on mine, but only because it won't stop raining long enough for me to work on it!!!!!!
