This is why I prefer to be anti-social. Humans are a horrifyingly stupid species and their stupidity multiplies equally in proportion to their numbers and proximity to one another.

A scientific example of this is when you see 6 guys standing in the middle of the road to fill a pothole. It takes all day to fix the pothole and it's never done properly. If a single person were to fix the same pothole it would take 30 minutes and gets fixed properly.

Sounds like you work with me, put 2 or 3 crews together everyone stands around. Just me n my helper both stay busy, ppl get poo pipes!

A state road crew went out to fix a pothole. Once there, they discovered they’d forgotten their shovels, rakes, and tamper.

They called their super back at the highway division, who promised to get right on it.

Five minutes later, he called back and said “I’ve sent another truck out with your tools- until then you guys just have to lean on each other.”

According to the article it wasn't so harmless. There were many DUi's, multiple crashes, vehicles stolen, 5 people injured, one had to be airlifted out, people were blocking public roads to set up camps. Guns being fired, illegal fireworks etc. That's not exactly what I would call a harmless gathering.

That describes every weekend gathering around here.
