What the heck does RBV stand for?

To expand, the Ranger, Bronco II and Explorer were based on the same general platform with slight variations. RBV is just an easy way to talk about the whole family at once.

Yup. Drivetrain swapped between them pretty easily up until 2011 for the Ranger and 2001 for Explorer. The 2002 and newer Explorers departed from the Ranger platform with front and rear IFS, different body and all. They got wider to help with rollovers caused mostly by not so smart drivers.

Fun bit of information, the grill, headlights, hood and front bumper from 1st gen Explorers swapped with 2nd gen Rangers and Bronco IIs but nothing else from the body of the Explorers swapped. Rangers and Bronco IIs from the same generation swapped pretty much everything but the rear bumper and frame.
