I have a 1991 ranger 4x4 4.0 xlt.

im trying to make a prerunner for the woods, not so much jumping or sand but runing fast.

i want to run drop brackets in the front vs cut and turn for money purpouses, so what inch skyjacker lift drop brackets should i need?

like what is the lift of a normally cut and turned beam with radial arms?

i dont want to just slap 6 inch drop brackets in there only to find a skinny unstable truck....

i ask becasue prerunners seem to sag alot lower that a 6" skyjacker lift, but is this only because of the spring rates making it sit low? or is it because it isnt really lifted all that much?

I would go with 4" brackets. The lower your truck is, the better.

But couldn't that not leave me with as much travel room as the 6 inch brackets?

Id assume id want the longest radial arm bars I can get like the 6 inch skyjacker radial arm bars....

Can I run 6 inch lift radial arm bars with only 4 inch beam drops?

You will have plenty of travel for what you are using your truck for, if you re-work your shock mounts. Autofab gets 16in of travel using cut and turned beams with longer radius arms, so you will be fine. But you have to remember, travel is not everything, you need some good shocks too.
If you really are trying to save money, you can extend your own radius arms, but I don't know if they will hold up to any real abuse.

run some jeep coils and extend the radius arms (not drop brackets) and you'll have all the travel you'll need with a 4" lift

With 4 wheel drive? I don't think I can get 16 inches of wheel travel can I?

with 4wd its going to be hard to get lots of travel, shoot for 12in with stock pivots, ext. rad. arms, longer shock mounts and taller coil buckets. \Then just tune it, in the back you can run 63's
