The spec is 150 lbs. I've got the tool. Half inch torque wrench. Can only get it to a little over 100. Maybe 110. Seems like I'm missing something. Try as hard as I want but Theres just not enough leverage. It slips off and I slam my fist into something

I've gotta be missing something. I can barely get it past 100 and you guys talk about 250.

Pipe buddy, pipe. Get the strongest, longest chunk of pipe u can find. Use a good tight socket. Get a guy holding the socket on the nut and a great big dude on the other side on the pipe. If u bend the pipe.... Get a bigger one!

Honestly...I just use my 1/2" impact now mostly. But I never really had any trouble with a torque wrench....I used to set mine at 220ft lbs when I still had the D35.

I have the enclosed style socket....I think it stays on a bit better than just the 4 prong.

^THIS^ and put one of your spud fed girlfriends on the end of that wrench bro.:icon_thumby:

What type of torque wrench is it, a click or the old bending type, with a scale and pointer, Iam old and pull 250lb no problem but only with a click type 1/2", pipe on a torque wrench is not a good thing, for the tool, you can rent a larger wrench at a lot of places, autozone and the likes

I have the click type. I figured it was an air tool or 2 man job. I just have the 4 prong. Which sucks. Would using lock tight help to keep them from coming undone?

I just use an extension tool for those tight to get to areas. Once you smack a knuckle you get smart....lol

I got mine to 170 with the 4 prong tool and torque wrench that's about 2 1/2 foot long

I hear ya I would get a buddy to come over and put some weight on it while you hold the socket on

There is a torque spec for those? People actually try to spec it?

I always just lean on my 1/2" breaker bar till it feels good and tight. At least for my BIIs. My F-150 has the same setup but when I was junkyard hunting for manual hubs for it I found some aftermarket ratcheting nuts. Instead of two little nuts, it's one nut with a ratcheting hub, just spin it on and crank it down. Wish I could find a set of those for the BIIs.....

Saw a set of those in disciples b2 build thread. Any one ever try to locate a proper size nut/bolt I know I could get way more leverage with a deep well socket

I use a INCH POUND torque wrench on mine, after you torque it, you must loosen and torque again, got to get a good reading with all the grease you've packed in the bearings. 2wd BTW.

If u don't buy crap tools ur fine..
