Hey so I’ll try my best to explain my situation here wish I can just upload a video anyways, I got a 1993 ford ranger xlt 3.0 manual trans with 268,000 on the dash, I go to take my girl to work and she starts up like normal we go get breakfast for her and as we go to leave I try n start her up but she jus cranks for a second and has the weird gurgling noise down by the trans it almost sounds like she doesnt wanna crank and is bogged down any ideas will help please guys!

Start checking connections, both positive and negative - battery, starter relay, starter, etc. Also check battery voltage.

starter not engaging??
worn teeth on flywheel in one area? turn the crank by hand a bit and try again.
manual trans, rock the truck in 5th gear to bump the crank.

I agree with other responses, but might want to check the starter solenoid too. Sounds like starter spins, but wont engage flywheel. Check starter related fuses/relays and swap to confirm. If something else stops working but truck starts you know its a relay/fuse issue. Check connections are clean and tight at starter/solenoid, and give it a few taps with a mallet or hammer. It could be "stuck". Also, confirm battery voltage. I'd think to start with the starter before suspecting flywheel issues, plus if you pull starter you can see flywheel teeth with mirror or with cellphone on video rec.

Edit: Well, it's also hard to say without knowing what you mean by gurgle sound, maybe you do have some broken teeth, either starter/flywheel or a slip/grind because starter is not fully engaging

An easy place to start might be a voltage drop test.

Corrosion can build up on the terminals, I had it happen on mine and the starter wouldn't turn over. Once I had stripped the wire back and re-anchored the terminal it worked. If what you are describing is the starter motor turning this probably doesn't apply

Are all of your uses of feminine pronouns in reference to the truck? Breakfast?
