well im sellin my ranger... i got this s10 though. i want at least a 3 inch lift on it. what are my choices? whats a spindle lift? im in the 400-500 dollar price range. i want to do a 3 inch (or bigger) up front and a 2 inch in the rear (gonna be lifted with shackels) :icon_welder: i kno its a chevy but i need help an the people here are trustworthy

well, if it's mostly a dd, then i'd spend the first $100 on a 3inch body lift. gives you lots of room when working under the truck, doesn't change the ride or handling, lets you put on bigger tires/wheels, etc. doesn't require tire alignment, cause early wear of front end parts, etc.
drive it around for awhile (while saving to get back the $100 you spent) then deciding what you want from there.
just my $.02.

well ya thanks... but i refuse to do a body lift. im also doing a california lift... wich a body lift cant do.

but, whats a spindle lift?

also how do i do a shackel lift? how many shackels do i need? 2? 4?

ive lived in california since birth and i have no idea what a califorinia lift is. how many shackles do you think you need? have you even looked under a truck to see how many shackles you can find? a spindle lift is exactly what the name imply's a bigger spindle that lifts the truck.

a california lift is when the front of the truck is lifted higher then the rear.
some people i talked to said i only need two shackels to lift it but ive always seen four (two on each side)
also how does a bigger spindle lift the truck? is this a good way to lift it?
im not a complete dumbass, im just new to lifting trucks

4 shackles would probably create a very unstable suspension due to the fact that there would be no way to locate the axle. on the front of the spring you have a mount and the rear has a shackle. i think longer shackles lower an s10 anyways. and yes spindle lifts are good as far as lifts go.

thank you. this is the info i waz looking for.

fenders probly not but i think the rims will fit.

i believe chevy's have their shackles flipped, so something like a belltech 6400 would actually lower the truck. they lift our RBV's because our shackle mount is flipped the opposite way.

well I'd suggest joining a form for s-10 owners and snoop some of their cheap mods and such. you may just luck out and the s-10 blazer springs may work like the explorer springs work in our rangers? I'm sure they have been messing around swap-in stuff and have a better idea..

Do you really think that the fenders would work after all there a completely different body style & the rims are a different bolt pattern. & you may say your not a dumbass which may be true ,but are you a blonde??

We can agree to disagree. "Cali lift" ends as a result of the suspension components used in desert trucks to allow for a sick amount of travel. Not to look like a freakin stinkbug. What truck have you looked under that had 4 shackles? a revolver setup?

And an S10 is a horrible platform to build off of, IMO. Get another Ranger.

the rims are the same bolt pattern... just because the body style is differnt doesnt mean you cant make the fenders fit... it was just a question :thefinger:
