my grandma brought some of my dads old guns over toda that have been stored at there house since we have moved, me and my dad dont know what this pistol is, the case says its a p25, but we dont know what brand model year etc it is. ive been searching on the logo i can make out these letters. F-C-A-M....... heres some pics

It's not marked on the barrel rib?

My monitor has a problem with darker images.

Could you get in any closer and turn the emblem closer to vertical.

looks a lot like a 1869 scholfield.
 
It's a Smith & Wesson copy. So many little manufacturer's made cheap pistols before the 1968 gun control act that it's going to be tough to find. I see an O so I'll bet it's something Co, as in Company. FamCo? Or FA Manufacturing Company? I'd get one of those Blue Books and thunb through the different combonations.
 
I disagree that it's pre-68.

Not that it isn't "pre-68", but Will misses the probable date.

Guns like that are refered to as "suicide specials".
And most were made before or shortly after WWI

That "style" of handgun is really a turn of the century style.

Swing-out cylinders were taking over the market place
through the mid and late teens.

Aren't the suicide specials the ones that would blow up in your hand? I remember my grandfather having a gun that he called a suicide special which he obtained back in his WWII days.
