what have you been pulled over for?

Back when I was young and dumb and full of (you know what), I was barely 21 when I got pulled over for driving while intoxicated.
While in the holding pen, the arresting officer walked up (laughing) and said "look! your driving record is as long as my arm!!!!!" It was. I said "I'm pretty proud of it too!" Mind you I had just been arrested for DWI. The officer instantly went from a smile to a frown, mutered something I couldn't hear then, turned and left. I didn't see that officer for many years after that. He is now one of my best repair customers.
It has now been more than 15 years since I have had a ticket. I like it that way. I keep the racing off the highway and I refuse to own a hotrod/street rod because I know that I would end up spending time again!!!
Out in the woods the speed limit signs have bark instead of numbers!!!

Good grief...this attitude won't take you very far. If you aren't down to 25 mph when you pass the sign, you are wrong. Everyone blames the cops but their lazer units don't lie. The "It's never my fault" is always used by habitual offenders.

your missing my point, instead of being concerned with the real criminals out there, the average joe is the target for a traffic stop. its one thing to be doing 45 through the middle of town in the daylight with heavy traffic and possible pedestrains, another thing completely to be 5 over on a empty main drag on the way home after midnight. it makes as much sence as that commercial a few years back saying that "officers write tickets to save lives" no they dont, its about generating revenue. you really want to save lives? then dont annonce dui checkpoints in advance, sure they still catch some morons, but they would catch more morons if it were a surprize. hiding among a row of cars in a car lot with the radar gun is just plain lazy. you sure dont see it happen during daylight hours when the normal traffic flow is going 5-10 over. now that is "just cause".

got pulled over on my bmx bike. got a ticket for speeding, 42 in a 25. as for the ranger i get pulled over all the time for stupid shit, no mud flaps, to loud, blah blah blah

Thread revival.

In the Chevy
Pulled over for speeding numerous times. Got license plate tickets for it in NJ and one written Careless for tailgating. Only speeding ticket was a black cop on the PA turnpike aiming a gun around the corner of a bridge and proceeded to make signals like he was landing a plane. 80 in a 65. Surprised they haven't gotten me for my tires yet and thank god they did not see the 110 in a 65 behind a Porsche (100 miles in 45 minutes. Cut the time to get to my apartment in half).

Should have gotten many for the loud exhaust. Everyone else did (at Exton UTI), so I found it better not to question it.

PA police like to leave violations like that alone if the vehicle has out of state plates. Basically if it might be legal in the state your plates are from, they will leave you alone for it. Most of the time.

Heard about a guy at the GM nationals in Carlisle once, cop tried to give him a ticket for "windshield obstruction" for the blower on his 69 Camaro that stuck up 2 feet above the hood. That's not legal in PA.

Cop started writing the ticket and then the guy cleared his throat and pointed out his Maryland plates. That's legal in Maryland, cop couldn't touch him.

It is illegal in NJ too. But even in Exton (they will pull you over regardless because of UTI) have pulled over people for things that are legal in their state and given them tickets. I at least got away with a 65 in a 45 which is almost unheard of around there. I have since moved back to Jersey.

I bet those tickets didn't hold up in court because of jurisdiction issues though. They were just quota tickets.

Around here, away from the tech schools, the cops leave a lot of that stuff go if the car has out of state plates.
