Im looking at getting a new car, preferably ford since i give chevy guys crap it would look bad to drive anything but a ford lol, but if a better option is available ill take it.

im looking to spent no more than $2000

the criteria
*good gas mileage, i drive 90miles min a day
*lots of leg room, im 6' 3" 280lbs mostly muscle but not fit lol
*be reliable,Ford lol, i can work on my own stuff but dont want to break down
*preferably have some sort of aftermarket
*stick is a plus
*room for people and things is a plus not needed, i have the vic for that

So the two cars that come to my mind are festiva, seriously i fit in them amazingly well, and 2.3l mustang or 3.8l mustang.

problem is there arent any festivas in my area and the ones that show up are in my budget i dont feel like paying 1300 for a festiva. all the 2.3l mustangs around here are autos with bad trans for crazy prices or beat to heck, and all the 3.8l mustangs are kind of high right now like 2500 they use to be 1300-2000 all over the place

Escort wagon.

I drive my 4-cyl Ranger to college, great commuter truck. I average about 26mpg. Sometimes 30 in the summertime. But if you want something more efficient, probably a Focus would be better.

The ZX2 definitely. If you had the money Id say the new fiesta. 58mpg, or was it 38? Either way awesome on gas. But otherwise the ZX2. (maybe an old escort GT, but again I like the zx2

New Fiestas aren't as comfortable. I'm half his size and feel cramped in one.

honestly, if you have $2000 to spend right now, use most of it as a down payment on something newer. you wont find much with under 100,000 miles for that price. maintenance will probably cost more than a payment. especially with a longer daily drive.

something newer with less miles will give a more predictable monthly cost. whereas an older vehicle may be cheaper at first, eventually you will end up with a big thing to fix, probably at the worst possible time.

my vote goes for as new of a focus as you can afford monthly payments on

Before reading any of the responces, thought of just how nice my Focus wagon was. Lots of room to haul stuff in, five speed and just fun/ecconomical it was to drive. I'm a lot shorter but try them all out. Never a problem with the focus in five years - just had to trade it in for the '05' Mustang.

well i had an escort and it messed with my back horribly and i didnt feel comfortable in it at all, by the time i made it to school i could barely walk, does the zx2 have different seats, ive also heard the zx2 doesnt get as good of mileage as the regular escort, ive heard people get almost the same mileage my crown vic gets. And i was thinking focus but i havent been able to find anything cheap.

as far as getting a new car i have no credit and nobody to cosign that has decent cerdit so its down to used cars.

and maintence isnt bad since i do all the work myself and get a shop discount on parts.
