ive got over 300k on my truck and the motor just took a crap. im wondering what will easily fit into the engine bay without too much work. Thanks in advance

A 2.0/2.3/2.5 of the lima engine family.

Another 2.5 is going to be the eaisest and should be pretty easy to get your hands on.

thanks. but im looking for something with more horsepower and torque

or would it be easier to just fix the motor ive got

Rusty is right, nothing is going to be as easy or direct as another 2.5L.

Any other engine is going to require computer, wiring harness, exhaust and transmission be changed out at a minimum.

what about a carburated intake or engine?

Youll still be looking at changing the trans and motormounts, and tons of wireing (if its even possible) to get your gauges working.

Plus the anti theft bullshit.

What makes you think your current engine is junk?

Yeah but theres a big difference between "it wont start" and "its got a rod sticking out of the block"
Not to everybody. To a lot of drivers, it's the same thing.
"It's got gas but it wont start, must be junk." :shok:

Hence why i asked how he came to his conclusion (y)

what about a carburated intake or engine?

That would solve roughly none of the issues we have listed, and on something that new would actually add a whole extra layer of complexity over just getting an EFI system and hooking it up.
