Hi, I have a 2005 Ranger XLT 4x4 with the 4.0L. There is a blue plug that one end connects to the top center of the block and the pther end has a blue plug. The lead wire is about 10 inches. Anyone know what this is and where I connect it? Just finished a rebuild.

Can you get a picture from directly into the plugin? How many wires does it have and what colors?

Could that be for a sensor in the tube that goes across from the air filter box to the throttle body? I haven't looked at a 2005 4.0, and my 1994 4.0 doesn't have anything like that in that tube, but I just looked at a 1998 4.0 earlier today and it looked like there was an intake air temperature sensor in its duct right about where that plug would land on the tube.

Edit:
This might not be exact to your application, but this is at least similar to what I'm thinking of.

No, I'm thinking of a 2 wire sensor. This YouTube video thumbnail is the best picture that I could find showing what I'm talking about, I circled the MAF sensor in black and the sensor that I'm talking about in red. Like I said I've never been under the hood of an SOHC, so this might not even be right for a 2005, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw your picture.
