What did YOU do today?

I pretty much drove all over the Upstate today. I took my wife out to lunch and then got some groceries. The weather hasn't been very conducive to working outside, so instead of swapping out the steering system, I figured wonky driving could suffice for one more weekend.

Been all over the place today, worked on the camry some and that engine is bolted down now so some steps are done...

Then decided it was a good idea to mow since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, got some things done with the brush hog then put the finish mower on the tractor and made it less than 2 loops when the belt died... gotta get some parts...

Tomorrow I'll get the Camry done...

Hmmm…

We need some pictures of these Camrys. How do we know you’re not really working on a couple of Yugos, or go karts. Or maybe you just bought a good Camry and you’re looking for pats on the back…

Day off work, so I took advantage of that and slept as long as I could lol.

Just ordered a jet/slide needle kit for the bike. Tusk sells their "cold start fix kit" with an upsized pilot & main for 18 bucks.. but.. that ain't gonna cut it in the long run. Found a kit with 5 pilots, 4 mains, AND a 4 position needle for $50 👍🏻 that'll have me covered for anything I end up doing to it short of a BBK.

Gonna make a trip into town soon for a can of carb cleaner & some muriatic acid.. then partake in some science.

The aftermarket front bodymount/spring hanger combo brackets, front shackle hangers, and shackles for both ends of the squarebody need to get stripped of their mill-scale so they can get corrosealed & painted. I guess a soak in muriatic acid should have them nice and clean in about 30 minutes.. never messed with the stuff before.. my understanding is soak in 50/50 mixture of M.A & water until clean... then transfer to a bucket full of clean water with a boatload of baking soda to neutralize any residual acid... Final spray with the hose.. good to go 👍🏻 well see what happens. Oughtta buy some chemical gloves too I suppose..

That was Friday after I pushed the grey one in, you might have guessed since the trunk is open it got rearended but only has 115k on it as opposed to the 250k+ on the blue one...

also the floor is not near as clean, I did not anticipate that much trans fluid to come out when I popped the CV's out...

I participated in a parade and two memorial ceremonies. Now, it's time for a nap.

Whelp.. bought all the stuff but didn't end up doing any science 🤷🏻‍♀️ Couple of my buddy's were sitting out front of their garage on my way back to the house.. stopped in to say hi and ended up spending the rest of the day there lol.

Moral of the story... Friends just slow you down 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol.

Nice day to just hang out though! Hope the weather was nice for everyone else on their holiday.

Nice day today, went to a car show, got the canoe down from the rafters as it might be sold in the next couple of days, brought home the bench seat from the F250 & also grabbed the headliner & visors. Odd that mice hadnt chewed up the seat or got into the headliner. they sure did set up house in the glovebox though. Shame about that ‘94 F250, 141K, bed rusted bad but cab ok, motor spit out a plug & wouldn’t stay in o/d when it was last on the road- 15 years ago. odd front end, ttb with leafs-think its a dana 50.

Well, I wouldn't want to distract you or slow you down. So, just consider me an enemy. (A friendly enemy)

had a blast, I really get into tearing stuff apart.

ignore the bumper, it's a different story/forum.

Worked on completing a little outhouse to store gardening tools and fertilizer, etc in. Got the tin on the sides and the roof today but it still needs some tin corner trim. I cut and "milled" some telephone poles to use for runners underneath it but I'll have to attach those later this week. After that I need to fit up the front door from my grandpas old house. A 150+ year old door.

How hard is the floor pan fastened to the bed? Did you have to do a lot of cutting?
at the front & rear the floor lays on a horizontal sill, spot welded.
the sides have about 1 inch turned down that mates to the inner fender. again spot welded but mine were rusted
beyond recognition.
only 1 cross brace extends beyond the bed floor, it widens out and is welded to the inner fender.
basically the floor can be separated by drilling a bunch of spot welds.
the front & rear while it's right side up. the side seams are easier when removed and up-side-down.
I removed the fenders last year, but they could stay attached when you remove the floor.
all the fenders, front wall, and rear sill can remain intact when the bed floor is removed.

does this answer your questions?

I have another bed on a stand if you need detailed pictures.
