What did YOU do today?

That looks like it should've been replaced years ago. I hope you changed the other sprocket and chain too...

I hate when you rich guys just throw money around. You could’ve gotten MINUTES more out of that gear!
Time is money. Those minutes would had led to "unplanned downtime minutes", which are much longer and more expensive than "planned downtime minutes". The difference covers the remaining life of that sprocket.

I will also ech that the driven sprocket and the chain should be replaced. Especially the chain since it is most certainly worn and stretched. But I have faith that Justins family does their maintenance right.

Well, at least I hope he’s putting it in his shed of miracles for future use!

Last year it kept kicking the chain off. It's getting both sprockets and a new elevator chain. The cross auger that feeds it is getting new flighting too.

KInd of a lot of fuss for 6 acres...

Looks like the lower sprocket had been replaced before, it was "normally" bad. The upper was pretty extreme.

In my prayers, proud of you, jealous of your service. Stand tall, stand together, get some!

While not to down play any pride in service, I've been doing it for so long that I don't see it as a big deal. And while I'm not as bad off physically as Bobby Walter is, my body is beat up. I can relate to what he has to deal with and I can see it in how he moves. In any case, I've been deploying to the Middle East since 1990, among other places as wars and other operations have popped up. I'm tired and worn out. With any luck, this will be the last deployment and I can focus on getting through the lengthy paperwork and red tape process of retirement and be done.

Not that I plan to stop working. I'll just be doing something different that doesn't involve working for the government. I'll have to do something to keep from getting bored and fill monetary gap between retirement and being old enough for the various systems to start paying out since they don't all pay out at once or at the same time.

Helped my buddy with MS move some.. well.. all of his stuff.

Poor guys been put through the ringer CONSTANTLY ever since he was diagnosed.

He was in a couple year relationship when diagnosed.. and it didn't take much deterioration of his health before his old lady left him homeless because she couldn't deal with it. Moved into an assisted living place, where a nurse fell in love with him and moved him into her own house... And then she left him homeless once his health became even worse. Moved into a couple more assisted living places where they stole his medications and grandmother's ring and shit.. his ex wife then told him he could live out his days with her.. but then she got a boytoy and stopped going by the house to make sure he was safe.. so he moved in with his mother.. same agreement.. until he was gone.. and then a month ago she decides to move to Florida and leave him homeless again 🙄 so now he's been placed in a house an hour and a half away from myself and all his doctors.. I hope shit stops rolling all over him soon. I personally would've fed myself a lead breakfast by now if I was in his position.. he's a strong MF'r.

Be thankful for what you have.. and never stop being thankful for whatever TF it is.

Ordered a “maintenance kit” for the lawn deere, comes with 2 qt of oil,oil filter, fuel filter, air filter & spark plug. I could probably source it all locally but seperatly and this comes in one box with only about 3 days shipping. Seems like it goes up a bit every year but doesn’t everything? Took the wifes escape to the next town to fuel up as its cheaper there. Had a odd noise on the way back, almost like a flat tire. definitely ground-speed related. Then it went away. Almost 200K on its clock, might be time to send it down the road. Nice day out, not many more of them left.

Spend about 12 hours clearing clogged drain lines in my house.
About 15’ of 4” packed solid and maybe 10’ or 13’ of 2.5” the same.

got completely covered in sewage, so that was fun.

If you can call it luck, HF had their 50’ power rotor rooter on sale for $100 off. Got my monies worth of it today.

Only good thing today was the wife had the most delicious pot roast in all of history keeping warm for me after my shower.

Getting out or changing job / duty station?

Never been in a restore, but would not expected to find that at one. Might have to check it out sometime.
You really never know what you're going to find, got my microwave there for $25, think my fireplace tools came from there, caulking guns, I go there when I need tools to modify or stuff that would be too expensive for a one time use for new...

Was a fairly lazy day today, about all I got done was finally coiling up the air hose and extension cord from a couple weeks ago working on the shed, putting a pile of dirt in the wheel barrow so it didn't get rained on (needed to not be where it was) and work on the welding cart some more, added another hook for wires and such which frees up the side door of the welder more to be easier to access the cheat sheet (I don't have it memorized yet)

The ‘11 escape (awd V6) started doing that thing again on her way home, vibrating like a unbalanced tire, then it went away. I pulled both tires & looked everything over. only thing I can see is drivers side pads wore more than passenger side. Im thinking a caliper is hanging up intermittently and the rotors being old might have a swelled spot . At least thats all I can come up with that makes sense. A tire or bearing issue wouldnt come & go. New front bearings a month or few ago. Does have almost 190K on it now.
I also patched a hole on the drivers side inner wheel well, right near the battery. A little difficult due to the contours there. A little tin, plenty of silicone & some self-drilling galvanized roofing screws, topped with flat black rickoleum. At least THAT was a easy fix.

How are the tires? An out of balance that comes and goes is a symptom of a tire where the tread is separating from the balloon part of the tire. Rotate the tires crosswise, front left to back rear and vice versa and see if the out of balance moves.

A cheap way to check that item, just don’t drive 90

I drove the Missing Linc to the eye doctor, a few other errands, and then had dinner with sweet pea.

Tomorrow I go for the neck x-rays, and the x-ray on my hip.

Wednesday I go to my regular doctor and he’ll draw more blood like a vampire

Another doc on Friday.

Then it came to me! If I can hurt myself or get sick just right, where I have to go to the doctor on Thursday, I’ll have a perfect week!

Tonight I decided to get the roof trim on the shed, did the lower end not the side that's missing trim, I did cut a piece of trim for it but I have some junk in the way of getting a ladder there... I didn't get too crazy as the roof will need to be replaced in a year or two but I wanted to get that trim on before I get the firewood lean to roofing added, the roofing lumber would make it more annoying...
