I built almost a complete carport over the rangers parking spot.

I have a carport on the side of the garage and one in front of the garage over the half where the wife parks but i decided to use up my wood from the rv carport i pulled down in june or july and see if could get s frame up before having to buy wood.

Nope, 17' or 23' is just to odd of a size to have any 2x12s or 2x10s laying around at so i had to go buy two 2x12x16 snd teo 2x10x16 so i could do the exterior frame. My left over wood then fit three or four cross pieces inaide because i needed 174 and 3/4" and these were 150" long. So once i did that, i dug around and found some corrugated metal and was able to put up a 6' row of metal at the end of the carport. I put up some of the shade mesh nets over the opening by the garage door for now because i need two more 2x12x16 and then the rest of the corrugated metal and i will be in the shade next summer when i do any car/truck work.

It will be so nice. Man, what a difference it has made today and yesterday while putting a new auto trans in the 03 wrangler. I think i will just sit out there om a lawn chair and watch cars drive to the fishing pier once i am done.

Thats what me neighbor does. He had all kinds of shade in his yard so now i understand how much nicer it is.

This is the mesh nets i have. 6 or 8x10, i think

God dang, sideways again

Thats before i out in the cross pieces and corrugated metal

Yesterday was mostly trying to chip away at the green Ranger project. Plus a little work in the shop. Managed to cut myself again on the steel for the frame braces so I flap wheeled all the sharp edges.

Cleaned up the IAC valve and the throttle body. The pipe from the EGR valve to the throttle body was completely closed with build up :(. The setup was nice to be able to clean without (much) debris falling into the intake. Interestingly, I could almost swear the two bolts holding the IAC to the throttle body had red loctite on them. It was not rust and it was red and well, idk. I am not using any to put them back in.

In sad news, my coolant uv finally paid off, but I found a small amount pooling below my exhaust manifold so as I sense a head gasket in my future :(((

More likely that you have a freeze plug going out than head gasket, still not the most fun...

I just used the '97 to relocate some branches to my burn pit, probably won't burn today but we'll see what decide to do...
