What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

The mother-in-law had a key and could enter and exit at will, regardless of the length of her whiskers.

In that case, a leash with a choker chain is the obvious solution

Finally hit the junkyard for that b2 rear bar. Its 1/8th larger than my stock edge rear bar (which looks the same as the stock normal ranger rear bar)

That'll probably be an improvement, but keep checking them. Some came with a 1" bar. I think I've ended up with two of those. One I bought years ago for my 84 and will be going onto my 99 with the Explorer front bar. The other I think came on the 85 Ranger. That truck isn't rear as stock or good of shape as I thought when I dropped the money, so seeing that big bar under there was a definitely surprise.

I will check everytime a b2 shows up. And i look at all the rangers, too, but they are always stock

Got a start on the fuel plumbing job on the Ranger. EVERYTHING between the new fuel cell and the carburetor is getting replaced with AN fittings and braided hose so it's like starting from scratch at the fuel cell. Made a new mounting bracket for the filter and moved the fuel pump bracket ahead a little further on the frame. Just mocked up for now - got to take it all apart to put Teflon tape on the NPT to AN adapters before reassembly. Next session we run the new braided hose to the engine bay and get a start on all the hose sections we're going to have to put together between regulator, carburetor and fuel pressure gauge.

Glued the aluminum color ring on to the shift knob for the Beer Fetcher. The double sided tape they use just isn't strong enough so I hit it with some CA+ glue. That'll hold it.

Finally installed the new CV and U-joint on my front driveshaft, and it and the resealed diff get swapped in tomorrow probably.

Bronco 2 rear bar installed. Also changed back to stock rimd and tires. Truck does well through the turns. It could be a fun autocross truck if i can lower it enough to meet tech inspection.

I talked to the guy from ricks rangerz about the coil suspension conversion to get rid od the torsion bars. Sounds like it might be a great choice

Sealed up the front diff cover yesterday, and probably triggered someone because I used silicone for the cover gasket. When the case is proprietary, there isn't a gasket anyway. My friend got on my case for using RTV and not a gasket, and then I showed him the ford workshop manual which specs RTV anyway. He shut up real quick.

Hmmmmm, all you builders and customizers change every single thing Ford has ever done all day long, and then, when you get challenged, the first thing you do is point to the Ford manual? What’s going on with that?

I’m a gasket man myself, but I usually use Permatex on top of the gasket…
