What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Keep us posted on your trip!

Might get a block and table for your winch, it might be a little on the light side.

Will do!

I am planning on getting a snatch block, just in case. Truck only weighs ~3200 as it sits right now, so the 5k rating is still (just) good enough for the 1.5x vehicle weight reccomendation.

Well be a lone vehicle on our trip, so between that and just being 2wd the winch is truthfully a super last resort measure. Ill actively avoid something if I feel the truck won't make it.

IF we get into a situation where we need it, it certainly won't be because we're buried up to the hubs in mud.. so I'm pretty confident the 5k will be enough. Especially with a block. Well see!

You will probably be ok, seeing this on my phone last night I didn't see that you were 2wd and thus lighter than "normal" for trucks that get winches.

Most RBVer's go 8k on the winch but in addition to being heavier you can get into a lot more trouble with 4wd. As it sits right now with me in it my 4wd has almost a thousand pounds on yours.

I debated on looking for a 89-92 2wd roller.... everything is apart anyway.

Took the roof racks off the 2011 now that I've gotten everything tweaked and noise reduction confirmed. I also trouble shot the CB noise. It is definitely the fuel pump. After doing some research, apparently, it's a common thing with Fords and Two-Way radios. For those interested, here is a link to a confirmed fix for the issue: http://97vette.com/sporttrac/rfi_fix/rfi_fix.html

It's has been referenced by a few of the Radio geek sights as a fix.

Does anyone have pictures of the T5 in their truck? I dont think I have come across any underside pictures.

I plan on posting some but I cant do anything till this weekend.

I used mine to pull stumps today... well stump. The second one lives to fight a bit tomorrow... gonna have to dig a bit more. The AOR bumper didn't even squeak...

What about the truck? Did it squeak?

I'm looking for confirmation on wire colors. I found out my Ford Service Manuals don't have wire diagrams. I have one on order from ebay. So, I only have a Haynes manual to refer to. According to it, the fuel pump wires are Pink/Black for power and black for ground. I can wait for the wire diagram manual to arrive if no one has the info but if someone does, it would be appreciated.

It made a squawk when the tires broke loose...

Stumps can kiss gump's plump rump... chump

Been since mid-December since I’ve been able to get much done due to work load. Three weeks ago the water pump went out on the way back from Cinci. Second time in 220k miles, but I hate that job on a 4.0......got it replaced and then unloaded the commercial oven I’d brought back. Noticed the drivers rear corner sitting way too low. Rusted off leaf spring bracket. No fun there either!! Replaced both rear brackets. Last weekend I put in a new Kenwood stereo with an under seat sub. Much better than the stock setup. Wired in a 2000w inverter Monday. Four years ago I bought a set of factory grade seat upholstery from a guy on eBay that makes them from original fabrics and patterns. Finally got them installed this week, along with new rubber flooring. Hopefully I’ll get around to body work soon, gonna respray her satin black.

Stump pull part II

I had the shovel in my hand... put it down and hooked the truck up again. This time I put it in 4 High... took the slack out and rocked it 8 or 9 times and it gave up. Shoulda just done that yesterday.

It sat still, got rained on and looked dirty. I looked at it out the window a few times... Does this count?

I know I don't say it enough... but I love my Ranger.
