Technically not my Ranger, but the crossmember for dad’s is done except paint and install… it was a bit of a rush job and shows, but it will work just dandy. In the pic, however, it is sitting on the tailgate of my green Ranger so… lol

My body mount washers perished and the car is being held together by gravity. I stamped some new washers and will put them on soon.

uh oh, you thought mack truck hood emblems were being stolen a lot? wait till they see ford ranger hood emblems of the pope. they will be swinging from mirrors in low riders all over now

i really like the height my ranger is sitting at now, after lowering it about 5". it looks lower then the other rangers around town and looks great when parked. it also still goes over the speed bumps smoothly.

i have figured out it needs shorter shocks so i need to see if 2wd shocks are shorter and mount the same as the edge/4wd shocks mount

also, my son that is stationed in nebraska (that still sounds so weird, what base in there?) and i have been talking hte pros and cons for rangers versus mavericks for hte last couple weeks and he told me he has an appointment to go test drive a maverick lariat and a ranger xl stx 4x4 today.

so maybe he will have a new truck this evening? it would be cool since we leave tomorrow morning to start the long drive from the bottom of texas to omaha to visit so a new ranger or maverick would be super cool to ride around in while we are visiting him. (we are taking the wrangler on the drive since it has 4x4 and none of hte other vehicles do, and who knows if we will see snow on this trip)

anyways, we were both originally going to get mavericks, then i looked at the tacoma and ranger and i was in between. he was still going maverick because of his 2.0 turbo experience being 100% positive in the focus st. then we both drove the rangers and mavericks some more and decided the ranger fits what we might possible being done way more than the super cool mavericks so now we are both probably getting xl ranger 4x4 trucks.

The driveline and tiny little bed is what puts me off of the Maverick. I do like the looks of it otherwise. Wish it was an extended cab with a full 6ft bed, rwd or 4x4, with a plain old v6 and automatic
