What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Swapped the battery out with one that came in another one of my sh!tboxes, and tested for a parasitic draw again.. pretty sure I had my meter on the right setting...

This is right.. right? The 00.0 is throwing me off though..shouldn't there be SOME draw at least from the computer or something?

Also prettied up my Swiss cheese front bumper..

Somehow managed this though -__- and Isopropyl does NOTHING to help remove it. Don't feel like abusing my kidneys/liver or else I'd whip out the bottle of thinner.. really not suped about this lol.

I am reminded of a legend of old...

See link...

Aaaah idk how I missed that.. such a classic thread. I thought we were referencing rusty#1 lol.

I ended up saying f-it and just gettin' after it with some brakleen... it worked... but im now reminded of what 'slight discomfort' means 😣

Oh well.. better than covering up a tattoo thats so rich in culture, sophistication, and class.

it appears your leads are correct...

how did you connect them to the vehicle?

I'm thinking you should see a little draw. Likely around 50mA...

finally was able to test drive the remounted/balanced wheels. I'm good enough up to 80 mph now.
I had dismounted the tires, cleaned & touch-upped the wheels, mounted & balanced the tires.

the Harbor Freight tire changer with added attachments works good. the cheap balancers need several tries to get it close enough.

Never hesitate to ask. I'll do whatever I can to help. Without going out to look at the moment, I'm pretty sure my idler pulley is as you described - a metal flat pulley with no edge guides. If I recall, there are 2 diameters of idler pulley for our 3.0l's. I got the wrong diameter once. Though a small difference, it affected belt fitment and tension and was obvious.

Edit: just went out and looked. My tensioner pulley is the same style, but different diameter than the idler. These pulleys are flat because the flat back side of the belt rides on them. The pulley surface is usually wider than the belt. So a little bit of lateral misalignment won't hurt anything. Guide ridges on the sides really aren't necessary because the other ribbed pulleys are so close they will keep the belt centered as long as all the bearings are good. Once a bearing goes bad and gets wobbly, all bets are off there is going to be noise and failure.

If it does, the one like Eric posted will work fine. Mine has been in for over 6 years without issues

After running a motor flush for 10 minutes, I drained the oil and replaced the filter. Then I pulled the 4 intake side spark plugs from the 2.3L and put 3 oz of Berryman B-12 fuel cleaner in each cylinder. I am going to soak the pistons from this evening until Sunday to see if I can cure the horrendous oil consumption. I will be using a total of 3 cans of B-12. I will also be replacing the PCV valve, installing new plugs, and doing a super short (50-60 miles) oil change after the piston soak. I will then give the Valvoline Restore and Protect a try for the next regular length oil change. If this doesn't help the oil consumption, then I will be swapping in a fresh engine.

What? I though that according to truckers and Harley owners, "chrome gets you home".
More bling bling on the truck means less ching ching in your wallet.

Im fixing to run a marathon on my bronco next week or two...

Master cyl, booster, wheel cylinders, get er bled, dipstick tube, turn signal switch (i think) and install that fancy high end 80's RBV radio.

Rustoleum

It doesn’t rhyme with anything because it is Absolutely the living END!
