I just bought an 86 ranger, extra cab, 2.9, for my son. Seems to run pretty good, needs some TLC. But the first thing I want to address is the emergency brake. The cable from the foot pedal to the rear axle is gone, broken, missing.

Looking at RockAuto, there seems to be several different lengths. Can someone let me know which is the correct cable.

Thanks

Probably this one based on the 125" wheelbase:

Front; Cable Length: 85.04 In.; 125.0" Wheelbase

That's the main cable. IS the cable from the pedal itself gone? If so add this:

WAGNER BC120889 {#F120889} Info
Front; 125.0" Wheelbase

Perfect, that's the one I ordered, and yes the pedal is there.

Thanks

Any tricks to installing the parking brake cable

Just rec'd the new cable, and hopefully will get installed tomorrow. Just wandering if there are any tricks to it.

Thanks again,
