what axle

Junkie's right... It would be 100x simpler to throw in the front D35 TTB from a later Ranger/Explorer... Perfect for what you're planning...

Twin Traction Beam.

It's what you have under the front of your truck.

Don't take this as an insult, but I would take the most direct bolt in approach. Swap in a dana35 out of an 91-94 4x4 explorer.

If you don't know anything about any kind of axles, you really shouldn't be doing it (at least till you learn a lot more)

Again, not an insult, just don't want you to ruin your truck or create a huge safety hazard to anyone near you.

no insult takein chance that is why im ask alot of dump ? that have already been ask im sure so ur say not to go with the 35 ttb just to go with with the other dana 35

No, go with the 35 ttb. It's an easy swap and it's stronger than the other "ranger-width" solid axles.

The dana 35 is a rear axle found in jeeps. The dana 30 is the front.

Why? There's nothing wrong with having the TTB suspension unless you want to lift it to the moon or something... Your truck just came stock with too small of an axle is all (D28). At least I assume that's why you want to swap, because it keeps breaking?

The D35 will very quickly put an end to that just as well as any other axle would (well, except for an axle out of a 1-ton truck, like a D60, but that's likely waaaayy beyond what you need right now).

Your truck just came stock with too small of an axle is all (D28)....... yes.......i havent broke nothing on it yet..........well i never had it in the mudd and i have own it for 3 years but now i have another truck this one is go to a play toy.......... what year is the ttb 35in

The D35 you want is in '91-'97 Rangers, and '91-'94 Explorers.

Be aware there is a "hybrid" D28/35 axle out there that exists on some '93-'97 NON-4.0L trucks. You want to avoid those (read here on how to identify the hybrid from the real D35).

dana35 ttb also came in the 90 bronco II

dana35 ttb also came in the 90 bronco II

And some '90 Rangers too (all having a 4.0L). But many '90 models still had D28s, so I was just keeping it simple is all.

ok...when i get a lift kit how do buy if i put the 35 under it or r they the same

I bought a 1991 ford explorer for $200 bucks, it had a blown head gasket. I put the axles under my ranger. This is what i think you should do...get a donor vehicle for cheap and strip it. You can use alot of the other parts for your truck too. It has the good rear axle to swap into your truck(31 spline 8.8 inch and alot of the ones with 3.73 gear ratio came with limited slip. Just keep in mind that you need an open carrier for a locker so if you want a full locker instead of limited slip get an 8.8" with an open differential) and they have the stronger front axle(dana 35ttb...this is basically a direct bolt in, pretty straight foreward). When you do this swap you will probably have to shorten both your driveshafts. I did this myself and it isn't difficult(mine dont vibrate at all). It all depends on what you want to do...you can always do a nicer job if you throw more money at it, but this is the cheapest way to beef up your truck. By the way, you can use the 4.0 radiator from the explorer for your 3.2 swap too.

im goin with he 302 swap andmy donor truck is a 92 full size bronco. so now with the driveshafts what do i have to do to get them to work with the 7.5 rear axle and with the ttb 35fornt
