SS's are like a shock absorber for the steering system.

I'm not a fan. They mask other problems, kill your return to center, slow your steering response, and if you loose your power steering, they make it an uberbitch to turn.

Agreed, a stabilizer is mostly to mask bigger problems.
Make sure your steering linkage geometry is retained when you lift it (linkage in alignment with the axle), and that everything else (balljoints, tierod ends, etc.) is in good shape.

If needed, the Skyjacker part# FA600 drop pitman arm can be used to lower the linkage down more after lifting it (which is not uncommon, the drop arms included in most kits are always too short for some reason, don't ask why though IDK).

I edited your thread title :icon_thumby:

I was going to ask what steering stablizers do and if I'm going to need one for my SAS but my question was answered for me and money saved.
