I was wondering what are some easy mods to do to my 03 ranger. Right now it is stock. I want to do rims. I did find some Dick Cepeck rims on cl for 550. says they are brand new, but they sell for 125 each on the net. I offered him 400 dont know if he will take them. But besides what are some easy things to do to make it look a little better. Was thinking about do ing a little lift but just dont know what i want to do. I was thinking cold air intake. I want to try to get better mpgs. Maybe some new lighting. I dont want to drive just a stock ranger.

You can search there are plenty of ideas here. The cheapest easiest one has to be the throttle cable mod lol. A lift for an 03 I think will be a little pricey depending on whether you want a suspension or body lift. bigger tires and rims are the most dramatic next to a lift and sometimes can go hand in hand depending on how big you go. Are you looking for aesthetic mods or functional mods? cuz if it's just for looks there are a million things you can do on a dime...

Riss, your jumpin all over the place! LOL. If you plan on makin it a keeper take your time. Pick 1 area and finish it. If you get the rims, get the tires. If you want lighting do it all. Lift? hell that opens up a whole thread in itself.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your truck unless you are loaded $$$$!

I personally think the best mod to do to a 01 or later Ranger, is to replace the front turn signals with the clear ones. They are easy, fairly cheap, and really clean up the front of the truck. Beware, some front side light have dark outer trim and some are light outer trim - I prefer the light outer trim best.

GF chips are cool..... throttle body spacers are sweet.... a tornado would be nice as well.

:D

Take your time, and search pictures, and you will find out in a hurry what you really want.

Do something that actually makes it yours. Something for you. It doesn't matter if we, or anyone else really, likes it, it's your damn truck so make it make you happy. :icon_thumby:

But anyway, chrome bezels and pillar pods look nice. My one buddy (however ghetto it was rigged up) put LED string lighting under the dash of his f-100. If that was done up proper, it'd look really cool IMO.

No no no..... Magnets on the oil filter, new O-Rings on the flux capasitor and CO2 in the tires.

Now that I think about it... You ever hear them POS honda's running around town? Bad muffler bearings, don't let it happen to you.

New glow plugs will give you a 5hp boost.

Come on now don't make fun of the poor kid guys. But don't forget to grease the serpentine belt to stop it from squealing. Works on all Civics.

Didn't you realize V-tec just kicked in.......yo:icon_confused:

I would start off with making sure all your maintenance is up to spec, everything from ball joints to a fuel filter. Nothing is more of a piss off than trying to modify your truck or car and fix it at the same time.

This. right here.

Excellent advice, and like the others said, take your time, do it right and do the mods that you want or think looks good, afterall you are the one driving it :)

fritztkatt u ruined my truck, i went and got glow plugs and they wouldnt fit so i hit em in with a hammer and now it wont start. or maybe i got the wrong ones? the guy at autozone said the ones for a 97 dodge would work on my 92 explorer, is he right?

You didn't antisieze it...

The gp's have to be from a Chevy anyway.

Definitely keep up on all the maintenance. Mitch is 100% correct.

Shave and a haircut goes a long way to impress chics...and some of that whitening toothpaste...maybe don't smoke in the truck so when you actually do pic someone up they aren't grossed out by the smell...and clean out the dead animals in your heater box...at least five HP in that alone...although they do weigh less as they decay...but the maggots hang around and wait for you to drop your donut...

I'm with the maintenance angle...get everything looked at really good and anticipate at least one thing failing on the truck just after you spend your last dime on a mod that you don't really need...

Patience...Rangers are great little trucks that can get you where you want to go and, in my case, make a bit of spare change to put something into the tank...
