Im the proud new owner of a 1998 Mustang GT with 84000 miles. 5 speed manual, with tan leather interior, and that metallic green color. Was $8,000 but talked the guy at the dealership down to $6,000 (KBB list price is $7,995) No pics right now because I gotta get insurance tomorrow before I can bring 'er home. :yahoo::3gears:

congrats!! Don't get a ticket... those sombitches are fun to punch.

Good luck getting insurance on that one! 18 year old and a GT Mustang. The Insurance company will be thinking the same thing we all are "we just know he's gonna go fast"!

couldnt be any worse 18 w/ 4x4

My 2002 F-150 4x4 was $20 more per 6 months when I first got it than my 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo... that was just a 200hp four cylinder.

my insurance tells me that they rate any mustang the same as the ford ranger UNLESS it is a convertible mustang, then its higher.....

Trucks are generally more expensive to insure than cars because trucks are usually more expensive, they're stolen more frequently, and because if you hit someone while driving a truck, the cost of their repairs will be way more than if you were driving a Toyota Corolla.

It isn't so much the repairs, it is the medical part of it.

Funny, I paid 6100 for my 2000 v6 almost 3-4 yrs ago. First thing first, go to the junkyard and by a set of sohc PI heads from a 99-04 gt. PI= power improved, they have much better airflow than 98 slugs and you will thank me in10 different languages.

Congrats man. I used to own a 1987 Mustang LX 2.3L 5 speed and I loved it to death even though it was a 4 banger. I'm thinking about getting another Mustang sometime in the future.

It will be worse, people are much more expensive to fix than cars are to even replace. Mustangs and Rangers lead very different lives, Mustangs usually don't live as long.

Post some pics of this thing when you can, I wouldn't mind getting one myself...

Cool, I am sure you'll enjoy it. My buddy just bought an '06 convertible with a V6 for $10k...nice car, not what I would have bought, but still nice.
