Hey guys i cant figure this one out i can turn the hubs in and run it in 2wd wih no noise or i can put the t case in 4x4 while the hubs are free and no noise but as soon as i put it in 4x4 locked it makes a sound almost like a shot wheel bearing sounds like some things catching it still works just sounds like its gonna explode hubs maybe? Front u joint? Sounds like its coming from the driver side tire? Thanks for any help.

hard to say without seeing it or hearing the kind of popping/grinding its making. does it do it more when turning or going straight or is it indifferent?

you need to post specs on the vehicle before it's possible to even take a guess.

.

Its a 93 ranger xlt 4x4 4.0l manual hubs auto transfercase its doesnt really make a difference turning how can i upload a video? I can take one with my phone if someone can upload it for me.

hopefully you are trying this on loose surfaces ( dirt, grass, gravel, etc....) never ever engage 4wd on dry pavement ( only wet pavement )

if trying on dry pavement, gonna kill the frontend or transfer case from the "binding"....

O yea for sure, im gonna do it out in the dirt its been raining a while too i made a vid but you can barely hear it inside def somewhere on the front i noticd when i turn in the passenger hub it turns and if you turn it harder yu can hear and feel it engage to the axel maybe i asnt going in and one side was? Is this even possible?

jack it up and see if the axle spins when you spin tire

Im at work today ill grab a fork lift and check it out i think it does because the 4x4 works just fine still although i noticed when i took it out moving i let off the gas and got back on and it was a big clunk sounded like i ran pieces of tire over i duno but noises bother me just means somethings about to take a shit.

could be your motor or tranny mounts are shot...the that could be your "clunk"

If I was to venture a guess, I would say that your manual hub isnt locking all the way on the driver side. But thats only a guess and Im no exspert. Im about to post a hub question myself, lol.

Anyone what the correct size ujoints to buy? I notice most places i look have 2 different ones?
