Still into getting this water pump/front cover installed.

I thought I might like to replace 3 of the water pump bolts (N811375-S101) due to corrosion rather than clean them up. Seems no one but Ford carries these bolts. That might be OK until you hear what the dealer wants for them.

Local stealer said they come in a pack of 4, yet there are 5 for the water pump, and the price was $162 for the four. I then went online to a dealer that sells jobber price and they are $21 per bolt. Ford must think their parts are gold.

They are standard metric thread M8x1.25x72mm but have a shoulder just under the head. I assume the Ford ones come with sealant already applied as these had it, but I can use my own sealant. I've looked everywhere, online, NAPA, AutoZone, nothing.

I don't think it's imperative to replace but just something to maybe make the next water pump easier.

Anyone have a source?

Take them to ACE hardware or your local bolt store and match them up.

My bolt supply ( actually there's three in town) will have whatever grade you want in pretty much any size.

With grade 5 hardware bolts?

a good hardware has grades 5, 8 and stainless.
its just a water pump, grade 5 should work. the biggest concern would be head type, flanged or not since its clamping aluminum.

I ended up cleaning and reusing the original bolts and added Permatex High Performance thread sealer. The bolts have a shoulder under the head with same diameter as WP mounting holes as well as a wider seat so no washer is needed.

Next time I will just use off the shelf though. Pity the poor saps who have their vehicle serviced by the dealer.
