Was "W" maybe right..........

It blows me away that the U.S is in bed with CHINA and thier DICKtator, but they had to get Saddam out right away. It just does'nt make any sense to me.

We're in bed with China?

No. We're not in bed with China. We have a very strained relationship with China.

First, we are always annoying them with demands that they improve their treatment of their people. Next, we are always annoying them with their lack of an environmental policy. And they reciprocate. The Security Council requires a unanimous vote for everything and they are always voting against us. That's a big reason why our demands to take heavy and immediate action on things ends up with a like note to a bad girlfriend instead of a love note.

However, China was and is a cheap place to make things. If you have something you want to make, say sock monkeys, and you tried to get them made in the US--forget it. The wages, the benefits--your enterprise fizzles. You decide to get a manufacturing broker to get it made overseas--suddenly you sock monkey business is up and running. Made in China. Fabrique en Chine. Where's the mystery?

China is losing bids though. Soon your sock monkeys will be made in Malaysia or Indonesia. Someday if things get really grim, those things will be made in Ohio.

I lost a post in here! Oh well...

We're not in bed with China. It's a hostile relationship. It will get more hostile as their increasing labor prices send our manufacturers to other labor markets, their contribution to global warming fueled by their massive expansion increases, their population demands more freedoms, their expansion demands more oil--we're on a collison course. Like two guys snorting a line of coke from opposite ends. What's going to happen as you near the middle?

I know not very many people keep their minds set on the global picture. But it IS global.

Bush is a guy that agrees with "the buck stops here." Do problems go away by ignoring them? Shoot a few Tomohawks into the desert to punish the sand for a US warship getting blasted?

When we attack Iran--which the next president will do, no matter which one it is, France will be a principal part of it. We all like to bash them, but they have an awesome military and are the most powerful country in the EU because Germany chooses not to be. They will join us in unleashing a whipping on Iran.

I have been following this for 18 years. Everything I said would happen has happened. The last step is the fall of Iran.

War... The more I grow up and experience life on this planet the more I realize that people are immature...

Can people not grow up and realize how similar we all are and just get along?
I may sound like a hippie, but both all sides of this dang war are losing lives for pointless reasons.

I can't stand people (why do you think I love my BII so much!)

Russia has been acting awfull spooky lately too, if we tangle with Iran I wouldn't be too surprised if they joined in the fun too. They have heavy bombers in the air 24/7 like they did in the cold war, reactivating aircraft carriers, and keep buzzing our carriers with bombers... they are up to something.

We are going to need a lot more than France to take both of them out... and whoever else jumps on the bandwagon (North Korea??) It could be a World War like no other...

It could end up more like trying to elimate a gopher problem by filling the tunnel with propane and lighting it... only to find the bugger dug a tunnel into an obscure place in your basement and literially blows up in our face. This could get really really ugly if not done right.

You also have to remember these other nations do not play by the rule book (Geneva Convention) as we do. If we go into Iran, it WILL get ugly. Uglier than you can imagine, there is a lot of info that is released, but how much info is there that is kept quiet? We do not know what is behind the scenes, there are Stragestric reasons for what happens, some were done on bad intelligence, some not. But as soon as the fact there was bad intelligence given, we should have backed out and try to repair the damage done, if you were given bad info your wife or GF is cheating on you and you get into a fight leading up to a breakup, then you find out that all this is over bad info, are you going to still go after her tooth and nail and not look into this "Bad Info"?

We have no exit stratagey, Bush does not want to leave, so he\us can control the oil. It is a precious resource, but we have it here as well and let tree huggers stand in the way. We have Nuclear power plants, but they stand in the way of that. We can use wind power,Solar power to help reduce even at least 20 -30% of our power. There is talk now of using lava to produce steam to turn turbine engines to produce power (Electricity) and islands in the oceans that have solar cells and solar mirrors to build pressure and steam and then deliver that to a facility back on land through under sea piping, all this we can do, but we stay for nothing in Iraq. Your forefathers (not mine, I'm Cherokee) warned you of medling in other countries affairs and the consiquinces. Who are we to tell these people how to live? Terrorist are trying to tell us how to live and how do we respond? There is the biggest part of this war. These last two lines. IMO.

It would be kind of rude to just walk out on the country after we pretty much turned it upside down and shook it looking for WMD's wouldn't it? I think after the hassle we put them thru we owe them that much.

It mystifies me that some over there don't want to accept it, they should know that whoever fights the US usually ends up bigger and better after the dust clears than they would have been on their own.

We can't leave NOW, but when we first started we could. But we originally did not go to Iraq, we went to Afghanistan to get Obama...er Osama....remember? We went into Iraq because Saddam was treating his people so badly, then it was WMD's, and we never looked back to go get Osama.

Exactly....whatever happened to fighting an actual enemy, who attacked us and openly admittted it, as opposed to Bush's wild goose chase.

It's no wonder we have high oil prices....we pissed off the whole Arab world, and guess where we get most of our oil from?...And guess who our current president is friends with (and his family has been for quite some time).

Sheesh....and people wonder why I am a survivalist who REALLY doesn't trust government!

So saddam had uranium that was essentially worthless without the processing capability. Even if he was to refine it somehow, The man wasn't a complete idiot. If he were to use a nuclear weapon, you can bet your ass that a similar weapon would have been used to convert the desert where his palaces were to green glass.

All that article was was an attempt by a very far right conservative group to freak people out. Same tactics as the far left groups. It's important to see through fearmongering and assess the actual threat of something before getting one's undergarments in a bunch. People hear "uranium" and get all worried. What if instead of Uranium, it was Thorium? Much more useful for building a "Dirty" bomb if for no other reason that people don't freak out when they hear the name....or Americium?...even better, it's in smoke detectors and the half life isn't too bad in some forms.

honestly....it's not that big of a deal.

I would like to know how long they knew that was there. It is ironic that every time the heat gets turned up about the war, some kind of big news comes from Iraq on new discoveries of "WMD's", or someone is magically captured\killed and look at the headways we are making. As far as we know this news has been on the back burner for some time now, more is to come out because Hitler....err....GW wants to go into Iran before his term is up, stay tuned to the Bush Admin....better known as CNN and FOX News Network.

Last I heard, the Canadians supplied most of the oil for the U.S.
I may be wrong but i remember hearing that not long ago.

Your key word there is Supplied. Canada has a surplus of oil.
