I have a '99 Ford Ranger and im wanting to put a suspension lift on it, but i have a tight budget. i was thinkin i would use a block lift in the rear. if i do that, would i have to get new shocks? and how could i (cheaply) lift the front end to match it?

check the tech library for lifting on a budget

The tech library gives ideas mostly for 4x4's. i forgot to note that i have a 2 wheel drive. It says at the bottom that i could shim the coil springs, but how do i do that? and, other than that, how could i lift the front?

Spindle lifts are about the only option for us 98+ 2wd guys (except for Edge owners). All of the ones I've seen lift 3". You could use blocks, add-a-leaf's, or Chevy lowering shackles to lift the rear. Body lifts are also available if you want to go that route. I wouldn't recommend using coil spacers on the SLA suspensions of our trucks.

yea spindle is pretty much the only option for 2wd, try getting lifting coils

If you go very much taller with the coils, then alignment is difficult to impossible. Dropped spindles don't change any of that (although an alignment afterward would be a good idea anyway).

or you could get bigger upper arms, i think fabtec makes them for 99 rangers, actually, yea im pretty sure they do, they give a 2" lift(with coils)
check it out

you can also get a spindle lift , new leafs in the rear, and flip the shackles.... through on some 33 mudders, dude your set

yea, thanks. i dont think i want to go over about 2" with the coils, so i dont think that should throw off the alligment geometries.
