Wanted clean gen 1 4wd

BDAB which 80s BMW ? :D

yeah, friggin corn gas sux. my truck run 16's haulin ass during the time it had the 2.9 in it.... when 14's started happening it got the first of the v8's.

sick part of it all, the best economy i have ever gotten out of it was with a diesel twice the size of the original engine:shok:

how the fawk does that work????....truck gains 2000 pounds grows a foot and was touching 25 mpg at 55 with 33 inch tires:dunno:

Suppose the 2.9 was running a tad cleaner emissions than your SLOBBERIN' diesel?

With no emissions aside from a PCV and a three speed I am within spitting distance of what most 90's 5.0 F-150 got for mileage. :D

The only thing of mine that gets ethanol is my F-150. Small engines, tractors and my Ranger get straight 87. As long as I have the option I am going to run that way. :icon_thumby:

when my truck is on straight diesel.

no. pretty even.

the 2.9 is not cleaner in co and hc. nox sure.....particulates definitely.

close to a wash with a superior machine in every way. definitely cleaner then a typical carb v8

but since i drive mine about as many miles a month as you have since you swapped it i guess mine is much dirtier.

bdab i can see where yu would not want a ls swap.

Mine is much cleaner than it was before I swapped it... towards the end the 2.8 would push the dipstick out and start spraying the exhaust manifold with oil.

Still ran pretty good otherwise though :icon_confused:

I know it isn't the cleanest thing now but like you say... I don't drive it a ton either. I didn't mean any offense or anything with the slobberin' thing, just you have it in your sig so I was playing off that.

no offense taken.... i reread that and see now i should have used some emoji guys, and that is on diesel.

its pretty dry. throw some alt fuel in the scenario and it gets ugly.
