Want to use 31 spline axles in a 28 spline 8.8


Well after further looking the backing plate is taller on the Cobra setup so that kit is a complete no go.

Next question is...anybody know where I can find a stock 94-04 mustnag GT backing plate or the entire stock kit? If I can find those, I can piece together the set up.

Rich at North Racecars makes a set that bolts onto the front side of the flange, no need to modify the bracket and put it on the back side. The SN95 body setup will work on the Ranger axle. Its made to keep the stock Fox width with the SN95 v6/GT rear brakes and use Ranger length axles.

getting a explorer 8.8 w/3.73 LS from a 96 next week end for $100
 
My local JY doesnt have any newer exploders in it and if I do find a 95+ exploder, they will want easy $250 for a rear end, thats how much my dad paid for what I have now in it. Plus I dont want to have to mess with flipping perches or the driveshaft flange size either. Like they are saying, you will more or less break a spider before a shaft. Most my truck will see is mudding and trail driving.
