Walker Flexas Ranger.......yes another one!

Hmm, Brian, you wouldn't be interested in another 4" of travel up front, would you?

I think what I got should be fine for this truck. Not sure how much more travel this radius arm setup would be able to use.

Well I actually just got back to workin on this thing everyday again this week. Feels good to be marking stuff off the "to do list".

I been working on finishing the bed so I built a removable bulkhead to protect the fan/rad and make the bed actually useful.

And I made a simple spare tire holder as well. Just need to add one more tube that will be welded to a plate I made that holds the center hub of the rim.

Tomorrow the toolbox will get mounted to the floor of the bed as well and then I can move on to the rear axle

Nice! I was wondering what happened to this build. Have you fired the engine up yet?

I was in drag race mode up until a few weeks ago playin with my other turbo Ranger. Now Im ready to hit this thing hard. I did get the wiring harness on it a month or so ago and it did fire up but somewhere I got a wire crossed in my harness because the ECM relay wouldnt turn off with the key and killed the battery. I plan to pull the whole harness back off the truck and rip it back open to find my mistake shortly. However I will have the exhaust finished before tha because holy hell those open manifolds are loud!

Its one single wire, I had worked on a friends roll back and he had the same issue. Are you still using the factory connector to the ECM relay? He wasnt and switched two wires. Should be an easy fix.

One thing i learned being an electrician/electrical engineer... NEVER trust someone elses word/wiring...:annoyed:

Edit: He actualy was using the factory connector but had two of the wires come out of it and put them back wrong... Im amazed how quick i picked up on that.

I build all my own harnesses. This must be my 4th or 5th one. I started with a 87 T-bird 5.0 speed density harness that I removed all wiring and pins not needed and re-routed much of the wiring to fit my old Bronco2 when this drivetrain was in it. I ripped this harness all apart to change a few things to fit the Ranger a little better but somewhere along the way I must have gotten a 12v switched wire tapped into a 12v constant. I will be pulling harness back off the truck and going back over my changes as it should be pretty easy to find my mistake once all the tape and loom is off.

Could you post a picture of your shock towers from in the engine bay?
Trying to get an idea of how high they would sit for when I do mine.

nice build! i put a bII tank in mine as well and on top i used a stock transfer case skid plate bolted to the frame just to protect the tank from any WHOOPS moments i mite have.(just a thought) and if your still having exhaust clearance issues try some manifolds from a mid 60s 302. they put my pipes right where i needed them to clear the frame and steering on my 351 swap

I will get a pic of the hoops later but the tops of them are about even with the top of my valvecovers.

Now that I have the Explorer manifolds on I will have no issues with the exhaust

Are you keeping it speed density or did you already convert it to MAF?

Its staying SD for now until I buy a Kenne Bell blower then I wil switch it over to a Pimp microsquirt setup.

Well I have the rear axle out and tore down for its upgrades.

I started welding the rear brace on the housing and have the third member on the bench so I can start to swap the spool in.

I also put together my whole rear disc conversion and spent just under $200 on everything.
