Question....

Axle is back under the truck,wheels on,arms on using 7º bushings,truck is sitting at ride heigth.

What caster angle should I shoot for at ride heigth?

Tomorrow Im tacking hoops and upper mounts on and with any luck it will sit without stands for the first time. Looks like the coilovers will be leaned backwards 5º and toward motor 10º.

That sound good? Any advice or tips before I get started?

Around 5-10* caster would be ok.

Well I got the flu over my vacation like I have never had before so basicly nothing got done on truck until this past weekend.

Turns out the lower coilover mounts wont work. The caster angle was to much for the lower misalignment bushings in the coilovers and they would of had to be mounted leaning back almost 15º to stop them from binding. So I built my own lower mount that uses the top two wedge bolts and one of the coil spring pad bolt holes. Coilovers can now sit at 5º rear and 5º in.

Then I made 4 stands to weld to the frame for the hoops to sit on.

After a whole day of mocking the coilovers up getting the right angles I welded up the hoops.

Just need to make the crossover bar and weld up the radius arm mounts at the frame and looks like she ready for coils.

I know the feeling on the sickness, I rarely get sick, and when I do its usually only for 24 hrs. This year I got it bad and was down for over a week. Just finally got over it last week. Truck's coming along good...

Going to move heims to other mounting hole to push axle forward another inch. Need to build the crossover for the hoops and mount the track bar.

They are 12" and I bought for 400. They were bought new and put on a XJ on tons with a LT1. That Jeep never came off jack stands and he parted it out when he lost interest.

Im going to roll it outside today and get some pix. Still have a bunch to do before I can drive it tho.

My coilovers were to good of a deal to pass up when I found them but if I had to start over I would go 14" or maybe even 16"

My Trac will have 60's under it, but it will be mostly street driven, and occasionally a chase truck/recovery truck, so I won't need a ton of flex up front, but it will have a selectable locker up front...
