Walk me through changing differential carriers this afternoon…

Thats my 2011 ranger haha

Differential cover came from Amazon for something around $100. I shot it in wheel silver powder coat and slapped it on. You will need longer bolts, the stock ones the 10 cover are not long enough. I just picked up stainless hex cap screws at Lowe's, I think they were one inch.

I used two 622-1250 bolt kits on mine. If you have ABS with a tone ring you will need to knock down an internal cooling fin, I found a flap wheel on angle grinder works well. It also has a vent made into the cover, IIRC an 8mm drain plug works well on that.

I clear coated mine... and badly need to wash the underside of my truck.

was that a pain in the ass to do? Or not so bad once you got the unit out on a bench? Special tools required?

No bench required, rear axle needs to be on jack stands since the shafts have to come out a couple inches, pull diff cover, pull cross pin bolt, pull cross pin, pull spider gears, pull S spring (takes some work, it won't wanna come out), remove C clips, slide axle shafts out so you can pull side gears and shims/clutches, add shims/clutches or just rearrange then reassemble.
