getting code 29 telling me something going on with the VSS will this make my truck run good for a few minutes then bog down and die? if i floor it sounds like its getting no air no spark or fuel not sure but i put new fuel filter and pumps /tps/TFI/temp sensor and only code i get is 29 could this little sensor on the tranny be causeing me this problem? also if i unplug the negative terminal and unplug the sensors listed above and reconnect every thing it will run a few more miles and start acting up again any ideas?

The VSS could cause the following symptoms:

1)Inconsidtant torque converter lockup
2)Failure to shift to overdrive
3)non functional cruise control
4)Non function of electric shift transfer case system.

And the unicorn

5)If the sensor is connected intermittently in just the right way it
could fool the computer into thinking that you were hitting the
preset speed of the speed limiter

To rule that weird symptom out disconnect it and tie the wire out of harms way.
Frankly I'm suprised your 86 HAS a VSS
