Question about valve lifter 1993 3.0 v6

All my valve lifter looks like when you press it using the rod no play? Is this normal? Or the design the oil will give it a pressure?

Just wanna know anyone has knowledge for working liftervalve or need to be replace.... i tried to rebuild it but when i remove the clamp only the top coming out? Need help thank you

Yes, there is normally no play. If you take the bolt and slowly tighten it while wiggling the pushrod up and down, stop turning the bolt just when all the play is gone. Then watch the ratchet as you lock the bolt down. Should be 1/2 up to 1 turn or so before the bolt stops.

Thank you... is there specs for thighs the bolts? I heard 24ftlbs? As long is on tdc ready to torque all bolts? Do i have to do the timing order to tightness? Appreciate your help franklin.

I think you have the bolts holding the rockers down with no adjustments on the tips of the rockers? If that is correct, you just tighten them down to the 20 something ft lbs that you quoted, it doesn't matter where the engine is located. The lash on that type of valve train is not adjustable, the cylinder head is machined to be correct when every thing is bolted down and bottomed out with the bolts.

If you just had a bunch of work done in the machine shop, and wanted to check things, or you just changed the camshaft and wanted to see where you are at, then you could go to TDC #1, then do the wiggle the pushrod till the slack was out, and then count the turns on the ratchet till the bolt bottoms out. You can't change anything, but you can check it. The standard way to change things is longer or shorter pushrods. These types of valvetrains are not adjustable.
