First post so here goes...I have searched high and low for info. But I just bought a 2003 2.3L with several issues that I have mostly resolved. I do have a melted vacuum tube I can not locate where it should attached to. I located this down near the exhaust manifold so I think it some how melted down there. Here is a couple pictures. I had a very rough idle but I replaced both 02 sensors and did a good cleaning on the MAF w/ MAF cleaner and cleared the codes. I am still getting P0141 and p0171. It is running much better now but the codes come back up.

Also I had a blower not working and I replaced the blower resistor and a fuse. It woks but only through the defrost vent. I did get a new pigtail but have not done that yet.

The upstream 02 removing the passenger wheel well was a real PITA. The downstream was tough but not nearly as bad! I was looking at the PCV replacement and that looks real fun too.

There should be a vacuum line diagram somewhere in the technical section. A vacuum leak will cause all sorts of funky sheet...hope you find yours soon.

Forgot to add...check all your air/vac hoses underneath with your hand...the air intake hose on my 93 with 3.0L was rotted completely through right up next to the intake manifold throat where the hose fits on to the manifold. Didn't see it from above and didn't suspect the critter until I pulled the hose off and turned it over...new hose and all is well again. Vac leaks are sneaky critters...must be related to mice.

OK thanks. I can not locate a diagrams for this engine/year. But I will continue looking. That engine is really jammed in there. It does have an idle issue still and I will recheck my new 02 connections too.

I think I just Googled vacuum routing for Ranger 3.0L when I was looking for one for my truck. It brought up a lot of hits and I finally found what I needed by clicking on the Images page on the search results page that came up. Had to look through that, lots of diagrams, etc., until I could recognize the 3.0L. Not perfect, but it might be a place to start.

New strategy is go finding a 2.3 16V to look at. That is the only way I can think to figure it out. I did Google and look at images. I just need to look a real engine. I think I'll scope out dealers and go looking:)

should be a line coming out of your heater box . there is also one on the vacuum ball located on the passenger inner fender

Yes I figured it out and ordered that new line. Thanks for all the help. All I have left I think ...is to replace the door sensors so I can have a light .
