V8 Driveshaft help

jmcleek: if your asking 2piece shaft to me it's only one...the explorer could be a possibility cuz from flange to trans seal on my truck is 55 1/4" but the one i fould was a 2.5"x3" bolt patteren?...i doubt i can drill a new bolt pattern, it's small enough as it is. tomorrow i probaly go to the junkyard again with a few measuring devices and hope to find SOMETHING!! i don't wanna just start buying new part willy nilly! this is the last step to get the truck on the road and i'm starting to crack!

Those early Explorers should still have the "current" sized rear yoke.
But it's worth checking.

When I did my swap from 7.5 to 8.8 rear axel, I got the Explorer shaft for about $20. the 8.8 had a bigger bolt pad. Any way, the weld in yolk can be used on eather end of the shaft. The one I used was from a 92 4x4 and had the larger "u" jount.

jmcleek...that's exactly what had planned on doing..but worry no more...cuz after seaching junkyards today we came across "Capitol Driveshaft" and they had the yoke we were looking for...$76 for the yoke and $26 for a new spicer joint...kinda expensive but you gotta make sacrifices once in a while...i put up a picture of proof once my camera charges

Thats not bad, around here they usally charge around $100 with balanceing. had one place that charged over $200 that I never went back to.
