Usage tax.

Why not just have somebody take a look at the odometer every year. In Ohio they look at the odometer every other year when you E check the vehicle.

Why do they do that?

I feel that would be a violation of my privacy. The amount of miles I drive or don't drive in a year are my personal business, they already get money from from me from fuel tax.

I don't agree with the general concept of charging more to hybrid vehicles. They still pay fuel tax like everyone else. And putting electronic tattle tellers on our vehicles? I don't like that one bit. I don't have a hybrid but who's to say that if they do it for hybrids that everyone else isn't next? Now the goverment has an electronic device on our vehicles, tracking mileage driven, maybe even tracking our movement. Makes me sick just thinking about the infringement of my privacy.

It's bad enough they make the automakers install TPMS, airbags and stability control systems on our vehicles now. I don't want any of this garbage on my vehicles unless I chose to have it on there. These things make a vehicle more difficult to work on and modify and serve little purpose for me. When will this madness stop? We need to stop our government from controlling us!

stuff like this pisses me off to no end

(rhymes with luck)-The Government, seriously......im glad im not in a communist state though. no E checks, or anything like that. just insure, register and your good to go.

and i never plan on owning a vehicle with all that unneeded emissions/electronically controlled everything.

Vote Democrat.

How does that help with Bill of Rights violations? Wasn't it the Dems who pushed Obamacare down our throats despite it's obvious socialist overtones and its blatant overstepping of the Federal Government's legal authority?

Well, in PA we are supposed to check the odometer every year at State Inspection. We have to record the current odometer reading and the reading from the old sticker. Its done to guard against odometer tampering.

Ah, I see.

And good point on the Democrat thing, I thought about it as well, I just don't like debating politics on here so I let it be.

not all of Ohio is subjected to E check. most of northwest Ohio is E check exempt.

IN has no inspection what so ever except in 2 counties that are ran by hippies.
