Rocksie is finally getting a bumper!!!!!!:yahoo:

This is sorta what were goin for...

OK, here's what we got so far...
My damn frame is bent! So I'm gunna build the bumper right on the frame. Then cut off the frame horns weld it all up, paint it, then weld the frame back together. This is just the frame work, I'm gunna plate it in sheet metal.
:icon_rofl:I was trying to beat the frame back with a 10lb sledge and the aim was off a little, next thing I know my grill when flying across the garage.

Once we get a new bottle of argon, The ds will be finished. Then I can move on to repairing the PS frame rail, and setting up the bucket and shock mount on that side, then it's on to the track bar.

And I finally got a new 3rd brake light, finally matches all my other lights.

Are you going to repair the frame?

Are you going to repair the frame?

No, I decided to send the whole thing to the scrap yard, I could use the extra $200...:icon_thumby:

Yeah, I got a plate cut from 3/16", that I'm plating it with.
The plate is actually gunna even up my tweaked frame too.

Got a little more progress...

My uncle welding up the mount brackets for my coil buckets.
1213091929.jpg

I cut a piece of 3/16 and welded them to the bottom of the lower coil plates to stiffen them, as they are weak and prone to bending.

Coil bucket and spring installed and painted
1216091507.jpg

The coil bucket is now set to give 1" of lift over the stock bucket.

It's lookin good man. Should be flexy!

Have you considered running heims on the ends of the radius arms?

Those bushings will bind up before your'e out of coil. Some heims on the end otta give ya a few more inches.

Flexy is Sexy!

For a rig that will see a lot of street time, sticking with the bushing ends vs. a jointed end may be a good thing as it acts like a swaybar, eliminating the need for one. I've got over 40,000km on my truck since my build, no swaybars front and rear and it's nearly as stable as a stock ranger.

But a jointed end will give you more flex for sure....:icon_hornsup:

Longer hiem-jointed wristed arms are in the future.

When I have the money for a custom front driveshaft, and new steering that will take the angles.

I've also been looking at the rad arm mounts and it looks to me like they can be flopped. Keeping my trans crossmember in the same place yet moving the mount back about 10".

Awesome build man The color is great

Thanks!:icon_thumby:

any updates?

I'll have updates hopefully by the end of this weekend. Just finally got off the Obama plan. (working again)

Just ordered Custom Alloy Moser axles for the 9" this morning,
Ordered the rear shocks last week,
And ordered the last piece for my steering last week also.

So, I'm waiting on parts.:icon_thumby:

Is the top of your truck rhino lined or a spray of some kind?
