New-to-me 1996 2.3 with a stick -Truck is backfiring and stumbling, come to find out the upstream O2 sensor is in the pipe but the wires are ripped out and hanging. Probably why the issues because computer can't determine if rich or lean so... ordered a new sensor but for the life of me I cannot find a connector to plug the new sensor into. Is it up behind the block or somewhere? Spent a lot of time looking around underneath and from the top.
Thanks for any help.

If the sensor wires were ripped and hanging, they're probably the same way on the other side. Might get lucky and connector still be there.

I can't find much online except a reference to "over the transmission". Maybe pulled the wrong way so on the driver's side of transmission?

It is on the back of the engine on my 2011 V6. Not very fun to get at either. I think it is mounted on the back of the block.
